Therapeutic information - microwave therapy:
Microwave therapy is included in high frequency therapies . The different frequencies of high frequency therapy have in common that, under their influence, heat occurs in the tissue.

Microwaves are applied by means of the so -called radiation field method. In this case, electromagnetic waves are transmitted in beam, through radiators of different size and shape, depending on the application. The energy of these waves is absorbed directly into the tissue and transforms into heat.

The microwave penetration depth is less than that of short waves. Microwave therapy is preferably applied when the local heating of the musculature or the conjunctive tissue structures is desired , such as ligaments, tendons, capsule, etc.
